Francisco J. Contreras is professor of legal philosophy at the University of Seville.  The winner of various academic and literary awards, he is the author of numerous books, including Derechos sociales: teoría e ideología (Tecnos, 1994), Defensa del estado social (University of Seville, 1996), La filosofía de la historia de Johann G. Herder (University of Seville, 2004), Kant y la guerra (Tirant lo Blanch, 2007), Liberalismo, catolicismo y ley natural (Ediciones Encuentro, 2013) y La filosofía del derecho en la historia (Tecnos, 2014). He has also edited the collection of essays, The Threads of Natural Law (Springer, 2013) and Debate sobre el concepto de familia (Editorial Dykinson, 2013).
