The head of the Berlin Greens said that expropriations are “not a matter of ‘if,’ but ‘how.’” During a referendum last September, a majority had voted for expropriations of large housing companies. An expert commission has now been appointed to advise on the process.
Germany’s vice-chancellor and economics minister, Robert Habeck, has come out with strong reservations about turning on the already-constructed pipeline, putting him at odds with Chancellor Olaf Scholtz.
“I would like to govern together with the Greens,” Social Democrat chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz said.
