There was a time when the political Left in America was patriotic, morally decent, and as supportive of church and traditional families as Republicans are.
Those days are long gone. Today’s American Left has lost sight of the path of decency. Their political agenda of today is the ethical antithesis of what a civilized society is built from. They have completely compromised their ethical instincts.
For decades, this morally depraved Left has been pushing America into the abyss of degeneration and destruction. Fortunately, America has woken up to their project and is fighting back. The conservative reaction has been lethargic, but it is getting up to speed.
Meanwhile, the Left continues its campaign of ethical depravity, often with outright absurd consequences. A recent example is their barrage of incredulous outbursts in response to the movie Sound of Freedom. Based on a true story, this movie
shines a light on even the darkest of places. After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy’s sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her.
Since its release on July 4th, this movie has sold tickets for over $100 million. This makes it one of the more successful movies globally, so far this year.
In a review of the movie, Shannon Bond over at National Public Radio—America’s pint-sized and hard-left public broadcasting company—labeled the movie “Christian” to let her readers know that this is not a movie for them. She went on to explain that the movie “is also being criticized as a vehicle for conspiracy theories,” that the real-life story it is based on is “controversial,” and that the movie is being “heavily promoted in conservative media.” She also associates one of the actors of the movie with QAnon, which the BBC defines as a “completely unfounded theory that says that President Trump is waging a secret war against elite Satan-worshipping paedophiles in government, business and the media.”
Shannon Bond over at NPR tops off her review of Sound of Freedom by explaining that President Trump “is hosting a screening” of the movie.
If anyone is still not discouraged, Lorraine Ali, television critic with the Los Angeles Times, might help. After dutifully echoing the same innuendo, wrapped in lip-service criticism of pedophilia, she goes on a weird rant that has nothing to do with the movie itself:
Unfortunately, the very mention of pedophilia rings a Pavlovian bell for QAnon subscribers who believe that Hilary [sic] Clinton, the Democratic Party and anyone else with whom they disagree is a “groomer,” molester, child porn kingpin or preschooler pimp.
It is completely untrue, she says, that “the mainstream media and Hollywood … are doing their best to suppress attendance to the film.” Apparently, she did not read Miles Klee’s half-crazy review in the Rolling Stone, and she is not aware of how some movie theaters openly sabotage showings of the movie.
Why is the Left so scared of Sound of Freedom? Should not everyone be against child trafficking and laud and support a movie that brings us a story about the heroic fight against it?
Yes, that is the way it should be. An apparent answer is that the Left has swapped their honorable moral compasses for a postmodern junk bag of ethical garbage. However, by reacting the way they do, pundits all over the American Left actually lend credence to the theories they otherwise viciously dismiss as conspiracies.
Let us for God’s sake hope that everything about QAnon is false. Let us hope that not a single person within striking distance of influence over any government, business, or social institution in our world is associated with atrocities like Satanism and pedophilia. I refuse to believe that this is even remotely true.
That said, when the movie critics across mainstream media dismiss Sound of Freedom in unison, and when they are so quick to associate it with QAnon, I am left wondering if this movie and that conspiracy theory hit too close to home for their comfort.
Regardless of whether or not it did, their reaction is entirely contrary to what moral decency would guide us to. I am not the only one raising these questions. Here is how Antonio Juarez over at The Federalist explains the Left’s vicious attacks on Sound of Freedom:
It is well worth seeing for its entertainment value, but also because it sheds much-needed light on the worldwide problem of child sex trafficking, how widespread it is, and how the United States is the No. 1 culprit for consumers of these crimes.
Juarez notes that leftist film critics and pundits accuse the film of being “conspiratorial”, i.e., of bringing its viewers a story that is based on conspiracies of who the child exploiters are:
all the things to criticize this film for, especially one about a topic that every one of us knows is real and rampant in the modern world, why jump on the conspiratorial path?
There are two reasons for this, he says. One is that the movie has been branded as a ‘Christian’ movie. The only reason for this is, presumably, that its producer Eduardo Verástegui is a man of faith, but since Christianity has long been a target of scorn, ridicule, and outright hatred from the American Left, this is reason enough for them to attack the film and everyone associated with it.
A second reason for the Left to be hostile toward Sound of Freedom is, according to Juarez, that they lack the moral fortitude to abhor child trafficking. His words are less explicit, but his message is pinpoint accurate when he highlights the Left’s “libertine mores” and affinity for the increasingly absurd alphabet-sexual movement known originally as ‘LGBT.’ In their expansion of tolerance toward deviant sexual behavior, the Left has become immune to any conversation about moral decency.
Or, in the words of Antonio Juarez:
In short, if you start talking about the horrors of child sex trafficking and the need to do something about it, you will inadvertently build a solid case for reinstituting traditional sexual mores and building stronger families.
As it happens, Sound of Freedom is the 20th best selling movie worldwide so far this year, and demand for it is growing. The same is true generally for entertainment products that honor the traditional mores that Juarez refers to. This obviously does not sit well with the Left, which over the past couple of decades has degenerated into a movement fighting the very moral institutions that built America into the great nation that she is today.
It is encouraging to see the emerging turnaround in the cultural war for our children’s future. The ethical erosion that has followed in the footsteps of the Left’s hatred of Christianity and the traditional family has not only brought sexual depravity into our schools, but also infested other essential societal institutions. When right and wrong no longer exist in our private lives, why should we adhere to those values in our professional endeavors?
As a sordid example of what ethical relativity leads to, President Biden and his family have been caught up in a bribery scandal of increasingly dangerous proportions. Back in May, this Report explained the details of substantive allegations by the Oversight Committee in the House of Representatives, that Biden has been in the business of selling U.S. government power for money.
This week, the Oversight Committee held hearings that added more pieces to the corruption puzzle. Two employees of the Internal Revenue Service—the federal tax agency—have come forward with shocking details on how government institutions condoned the corruption. According to Fox News, the whistleblowers testified that the IRS and the U.S. Department of Justice refused to investigate accusations of tax fraud against President Biden and his son Hunter. The tax fraud was allegedly connected to the money that the Bidens received from abroad.
The Fox News story also reveals how Democrat members of the committee tried to downplay the accusations:
In Wednesday’s marathon House hearing, Oversight Committee Democrats ran into a buzzsaw: two IRS whistleblower agents [who] … outlined how President Biden’s Justice Department quashed the Biden corruption investigation from within while publicly pretending that it was being conducted with independence and integrity.
The Democrats defending the president were served “fusillades of fact” and “damning data about the millions raked in by the president’s son and family members from apparatchiks of corrupt and anti-American regimes.”
These are shocking accusations. If true, the consequences are monumental, both for America’s national security and for the moral fabric of the federal government. It does not take much moral backbone to conclude that a full investigation is needed. Yet elected officials on the Left do not react with dismay at the possibility of the president being corrupted by foreign powers. Rather than going on a dispassionate quest for the truth, they attack those who bring valuable information to the public and to Congress.
Among the ones attacking the IRS whistleblowers is Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), who rudely interrupted one of them during the Oversight Committee hearing. Raskin was more interested in running defense for the president than finding out if the president has been selling his country out for a fistful of dollars.
Sometimes, the Left finds that smearing and attacking will not silence their opponents. That is when they resort to outright censorship. Since the American constitution indisputably bans such activities by government, the Left has set up an elaborate system of private social media platforms that run the censorship errands for government.
Among a plethora of examples of such censorship is the story about how social media suppressed information about a laptop with incriminating information that belonged to Hunter Biden, the president’s son.
Once again, the Republican majority in the House of Representatives has shed light on the Left’s nefarious activities. Its so-called Weaponization Committee, set up to investigate how the Left uses government institutions as weapons against their political opponents, held a hearing this week on political censorship. Emma-Jo Morris, a political editor with Breitbart News, testified on how her story about Hunter Biden’s laptop was censored:
Morris reported on Biden’s laptop in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election during her time as New York Post’s deputy politics editor. Big tech social media companies then censored Morris’s report en masse. The censorship brought big tech’s collusion with the federal government to the forefront of the conservative political worldview.
Technically, Hunter Biden is a private citizen, but his conduct reflects badly on his father, especially when his father appears to be doing nothing to stop it—and instead seems to be helping his son live a corrupt lifestyle. However, what should really worry us all is the actual content that was found on Hunter’s laptop when it was handed in for repairs at a computer shop in Delaware in 2019. According to Sense Receptor News, these are the main pieces of information found on the laptop:
- Emails showing that then-vice president Biden and his son had seedy dealings with Ukrainian energy company Burisma;
- Evidence of “remuneration packages” paid out to members of the Biden family, allegedly in exchange for political influence;
- Sexually explicit pictures of Hunter Biden;
- Evidence of the president’s son using drugs.
In other words, the story that the laptop tells us is that the son of the current president is a drug addict who puts himself in incriminating positions while participating in a bribery scheme aimed at selling out America’s national integrity for the personal gains of the president and his family members.
From smearing a movie exposing child trafficking to defending a corrupt president, to trying to censor people exposing their own censorship, the American Left is far from ethically equipped to lead our nation. Every moral premise they operate by is antithetical to a civilized society.
Let us hope that our nation’s moral awakening did not happen too late.
