A numbe of EU states – Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia – have signed a statement about nuclear energy, EUobserver reports.
They advocate that nuclear power should be classified as green-friendly, referring to the upcoming industrial taxonomy of the European Union. This would serve as a guideline to the private capital in the industry.
According to the statement, “there is no science-based evidence that nuclear power is less climate-friendly than any of the energy sources.” The statement declares that nuclear power is “a crucial and reliable asset for a low-carbon future.”
