HazteOir has taken its biological gender-affirming bus out of the garage to cruise through Madrid to stop the passage of Spain’s proposed ‘Trans Law’ that would allow for the self-determination of biological sex for legal purposes, including for adolescents.
“Los niños tienen pene, las niñas tienen vulva,” (boys have penises and girls have vaginas), is stated boldly on the side of the vehicle, along with “Les niñes no existen,” a reference—pushed by gender-theory advocates—to a gender-neutral word for children.
The advocacy organization had the bus made five years ago to show the contradictions and dangers of teaching children that biological sex is self-determined and can be changed surgically. Dubbed ‘the orange bus,’ it garnered attention on its previous tour through the capital. Now, with the government trying to push through the ‘Trans Law’ by the end of the year, the organisation is making another effort to show the public’s opposition to such measures.
“The new #StopLeyTrans bus will circulate through Madrid in the coming weeks with the following slogans: ‘Nenes do not exist,’ ‘No to child mutilation,’ and ‘Women do not have penises,’ to show civil society’s rejection of the new norm in the parliamentary process since it mainly leaves children and women unprotected against serious abuses, such as the mutilation of their genitals, hormonal treatment, and sterilisation,” the organisation explained. “Minors, with the ‘Trans Law’ in force, may demand irreversible surgeries that affect their genitals for life.”
The bus started its routes through the capital on October 31st. The government is pressing for the passage of the ‘Trans Law’ by the end of the year.
