Leading left-wing globalists—including George Soros, staffers from the Obama and Clinton campaigns, along with member states in the European Union—have banded together in a desperate effort to destroy Twitter following Elon Musk’s take over of the crucial social media platform.
It has been revealed that groups funded by or linked to George Soros, the Clinton family, Barack Obama, and European governments are the financial backers of 26 leftist activist groups and NGOs who, together, recently signed a letter calling on ultrawealthy advertisers to pull their funding from Twitter if Elon Musk enacts changes to the social media company’s content moderation practices, The Daily Mail reports.
The letter, signed by the 26 organizations and presumably sent to leading Twitter advertisers—and some of the largest multinational corporations in the world—like Nestle, Verizon, Disney, Comcast, and Unilever reads:
Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter will further toxify our information ecosystem and be a direct threat to public safety, especially among those already most vulnerable and marginalized.
Under Musk’s management, Twitter risks becoming a cesspool of misinformation, with your brand attached, polluting our information ecosystem in a time where trust in institutions and news media is already at an all-time low.
Your ad dollars can either fund Musk’s vanity project or hold him to account. We call on you to demand Musk uphold these basic standards of community trust and safety, and to pull your advertising spending from Twitter if they are not.
Signatories of the letter also claimed that those who choose to advertise on Twitter risk associating with “a platform amplifying hate, extremism, health misinformation, and conspiracy theorists.”
After Musk became aware of the document, which happened to have a letterhead including the logos of Media Matters for America, Accountable Tech, and UltraViolet, he took to Twitter, writing: “Who funds these organizations that want to control your access to information? Let’s investigate. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.”
Media Matters for America (MMFA), a Washington D.C.-based organization founded in 2004 by David Brock, bills itself as a site “dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media.” While Time once described Brock as “one of the most influential operatives in the Democratic Party,” Politico characterized him as a “Clinton enforcer” and an “attack dog” for the Democratic Party. MMFA is known to have received large sums of money from George Soros in the past.
Similarly, the firm Accountable Tech, also based out of Washington D.C., is linked to top operatives in the Democratic Party. The organization’s co-founder is Jesse Lehrich, who served as a spokesman for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016. He’s also the nephew of David Axelrod, a former senior adviser to Barack Obama.
Accountable Tech, on its website, claims to “advocate for social media companies to strengthen the integrity of their platforms and our democracy.”
UltraViolet is an ultra-progressive, non-profit organization established in 2012 which claims to work “to improve the lives of women and girls of all identities, and all people impact by sexism, by disrupting patriarchy and creating a cost for sexism.” It also advocates for expanded abortion access and works to elect left-liberal candidates in state and federal elections.
Other organizations who’ve signed onto the letter include Access Now, a non-profit backed by EU governments—namely those in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands—as well as George Soros’ Open Society Foundation. The group claims to defend digital civil rights around the globe.
