As of Feb. 3rd, Johan Floderus, a Swedish EU diplomat, has been unlawfully imprisoned by the Iranian regime for 657 days.
The official is charged with spying for Israel, but some claim the trial is a pretext to force a prisoner exchange with Sweden.
In what appears to be another example of hostage diplomacy, Tehran is demanding Sweden’s release of a jailed Iranian official behind the massacre of political dissidents in the 1980s.
