Speakers at the Demographic Summit in Budapest say Europe will come face to face with a “demographic ice age” if it doesn’t change its mentality.
“We cannot allow Russia to achieve its military objectives,” the Hungarian President said, while the country was among the first to deliver humanitarian aid to flood victims of the Kakhovka dam explosion.
“It is necessary to consider whether [it’s] consistent with the freedom of expression,” President Novák stated, questioning the law’s applicability.
The Czech Republic had tried to authorize same-sex marriage between 2018 and 2021 without success. This time, conditions are more favourable.
The new Hungarian President Katalin Novák took the initiative and announced in her inaugural speech on May 14th that her first foreign trip would be to Poland. This gesture was warmly welcomed by President Duda.
In a display of steadfast national and religious unity, the inaugural ceremony brought together everyday, working Hungarians, principal political leaders, and Catholic, Orthodox, Calvinist, Evangelical Lutheran prelates.
President Katalin Novák stressed that after the torments of the 20th century, the 21st century envisages a better, more peaceful, and safer life for the Hungarian people. At the moment, however, a dark cloud casts a shadow, namely the war in neighboring Ukraine.
The new president arrived at Parliament accompanied by her husband and three children. Refuting the ‘codes’ of militant feminism, Novák highlighted her identity as a woman and mother as decisive assets in politics.
Growing capital formation and a rising standard of living are irrefutable evidence of how the Hungarian government is successfully putting its conservative values to work. With a distinctly conservative welfare state, Mr. Orbán has led his country out of a demographic slump. Marriage and birth rates are up noticeably, which is precisely what the Hungarian government was aiming for.
