“We must respond by taking to the street so that this government of treason and ruin falls,” said VOX party leader Abascal.

VOX is honing in on the Spanish government’s recent changes to the country’s law code, which are aimed at facilitating the country’s breakup by allowing separatists to strengthen their hold over Catalonia.

VOX and the Solidarity workers union have scheduled a demonstration for this coming Saturday, November 19th in Barcelona, and again on the 27th in Madrid, as well as in front of town halls across the country.

The party’s leader, Santiago Abascal, tweeted:

They continue to trample on the law, our institutions, coexistence, and the nation … we must respond by taking to the street so that this government of treason and ruin falls … we must demand, through the ballot boxes, that the enemies of Spain be expelled from government.

Given its plummeting support in the polls, and the near-certainty that the ruling leftist coalition will lose the next elections, the government seems to be accelerating its plans in order to give international supporters (George Soros among them) and domestic partners (including Catalan separatist parties) a return on their investment.

It remains to be seen whether the social reaction, including that which VOX is organizing, will be enough to slow them down.
