A violent knife attack shocked Vienna on Monday, May 26th, leaving a man with injuries to his head and arms. The assault, which took place in the Keplerplatz area shortly after noon, prompted an immediate response from emergency services and police. The motive behind the attack is still unclear.

According to the authorities, the victim was found with multiple cuts to his head and arm, reportedly inflicted by an unknown assailant. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, and a manhunt was launched in the surrounding area. Police remain at the scene as the investigation continues. No arrests have been made so far. 

The attack occurred in the heart of the designated weapons ban zone of the Favoriten district of Vienna, an area where violent crimes has been on the rise. Just recently, another man was stabbed in nearby Reumannplatz.
