Israel launched raids on villages near Ramallah on Monday after two Palestinian gunmen killed six people at a bus stop in east Jerusalem, one of the deadliest attacks since the Gaza war began nearly two years ago.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israeli forces were “pursuing all those who aided and dispatched” the attackers and pledged “even stronger steps” in response. Police confirmed both gunmen were shot dead at the scene.
One of the victims was a recent immigrant from Spain, while four others were ultra-Orthodox Israelis. Fifteen people were injured, seven critically, according to emergency services.
Hamas praised the attack as a “natural response” to Israeli actions in Gaza, while France, Germany, Spain, and the UAE condemned the shooting as “cowardly” and “horrific.”
