The comedian falsely suggested Charlie Kirk’s accused killer was part of Trump’s MAGA movement

ABC has pulled Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show after the Federal Communications Commission threatened to revoke broadcasting licenses over the comedian’s attempt to link the man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk to President Trump’s MAGA movement.

The move came just days after Kimmel claimed on air that conservatives were “desperately trying to characterize” the 22-year-old charged with Kirk’s murder as someone other than “one of them.”

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr warned affiliates they could “do this the easy way or the hard way” by dropping Kimmel or risking license action. Nexstar, a major ABC affiliate owner seeking FCC approval for a merger, quickly pulled the show, followed by ABC nationwide.

President Trump hailed the decision on Truth Social: “Great news for America. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done.” He also urged NBC to cancel other late-night hosts, calling them “total losers.”

Kimmel has yet to comment.
