Three people were attacked with knives in west London. One suffered fatal stab wounds, while the other two were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The attack took place in Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge, to where the London police and ambulance service were called on Monday, October 27th. Police arrested a 22-year-old Afghan national at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. The man has since been taken into custody. According to police, an investigation has been launched and urgent inquiries are ongoing.
The man who suffered fatal injuries was 49 years old, and although paramedics fought to save his life at the scene, they were unable to do so. The other two victims were a 45-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy. The former was taken to hospital with what the Met police later downgraded to ‘life-changing but not life-threatening’ injuries.
While the authorities have confirmed that the suspect did not arrive in Britain by ‘small boat,’ the violence will likely add to widespread concerns about public safety in the UK.
