Mada Pasa—an Afghan asylum seeker and social media ‘influencer,’—has appeared in court accused of threatening Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, after posting a violent-looking TikTok video last October, thereby ’using social media to cause fear and distress.’
The 26-year-old—whose real name is Fayaz Khan—pleaded not guilty at Westminster Magistrates Court, where he was remanded in custody.
Mada Pasa wore a grey prison tracksuit and trainers in court, his tattooed face and hands clearly visible. An Afghan translator assisted him throughout the proceedings.
Reform leader Farage had posted a YouTube video on October 12th 2024, featuring clips of Mada Pasa’s illegal journey from Stockholm to Britain in a small boat. In one of the videos, a man was seen holding a pistol.
Three days later, Mada Pasa responded on TikTok, by making gun gestures, head-butting towards the camera, and saying
English man Nigel… you do not know me… don’t talk s**t about me… I come to England because I want to marry your sister. I want to come to England to go pop pop pop.
Farage told the court he found the video “pretty chilling,” saying
Given his proximity to guns, I was genuinely, genuinely worried. [He] was coming to England and [claimed] he was going to shoot me.
The prosecution added that Mada Pasa’s mobile phone contained a GB News clip about the case, which he had edited to include the words “Madapasa battalion v UK” and “I Mean what I say.” The trial continues and is expected to last four days.
Previously, French authorities had escorted Pasa’s boat across the Channel before he claimed asylum in Britain. Known for his Kalashnikov tattoo and violent online persona, he was charged with making threats to kill and persistently using a public communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience, or anxiety.
