Fayaz Khan, alias “madapasa” or “Mada Pasa” to his large social media following, was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for threatening in a TikTok video last October to kill Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
At Southwark Crown Court, the judge echoed Farage and said Khan’s threats were “pretty chilling.” After hearing his sentence Khan shouted accusations that Farage was trying to “use me because you want to be Prime Minister” and declared he wanted to go back to Afghanistan to be with his family.
Khan arrived in the UK after a ‘small boat’ Channel crossing where he intended to claim asylum from Afghanistan. He passed through various safe countries on the way, including Sweden where he acquired a weighty criminal record—enough to make his threats to Farage seem credible—and was detained on arrival, giving his age as 26 (unlike to the Swedish authorities, who he told he was 31).
It remains unclear whether or not he faces deportation at the end of his sentence.
