Amnesty International called Israel’s defence efforts a “live-streamed genocide”—a modern echo of historical accusations against evil Jews.
The annual report from the troubled human rights group, which says Israel is forcibly displacing most Gazans and deliberately creating a humanitarian catastrophe, appeared on Tuesday, April 29th. According to the group, Israeli forces are acting with “specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, thus committing genocide.”
In response, Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Oren Marmorstein noted
The radical anti-Israel organisation Amnesty has once again chosen to publish baseless lies against Israel.
Apart from factual objections to the report’s claims, such as its use of debunked and inconsistent Hamas-supplied medical data, it also downplays the deadly October 7th pogrom―led by Hamas itself, alongside Islamic Jihad.
