A 31-year-old Latvian man was arrested after threatening to take passengers hostage on a train traveling from Vienna to Innsbruck on Monday, October 3rd.

Police said the suspect made violent threats around 1 p.m. and claimed he would take hostages if officers boarded the train. When the train stopped at Salzburg’s main station police intervened and arrested him. One officer was injured during the arrest.
