The Berlin chapter of The Left (Die Linke) party has launched a campaign against Apollo News, with the aim of “ousting it” from the Treptow district of the German capital. The organizers have pledged to “make life uncomfortable” for the right-wing news website’s editorial team.
Around 70 participants, including Antifa activists and the Amadeu Antonio Foundation, attended an event outlining plans to pressure Apollo News into leaving.
Editor-in-chief Max Mannhart called the threats a direct challenge to press freedom and has contacted Berlin’s mayor for support. He emphasized that the German Basic Law guarantees media rights across the country and his team is determined to continue reporting despite political pressure.
