Following their controversial appearance at Glastonbury, punk duo Bob Vylan have been dropped from the line-up of a music festival in Manchester. They were also scheduled to perform at the French festival Kave Fest on Sunday, but organisers confirmed to the BBC that their appearance there was cancelled as well. Additionally, a German music venue announced that Bob Vylan will no longer open for the U.S. band Gogol Bordello at a concert in Cologne this September.
Meanwhile, British police have launched an investigation into whether a crime was committed after the duo’s frontman led the audience in chants of “Death to the IDF” during their Glastonbury set. The police statement said the investigation would determine if any comments made by the band amounted to a criminal offense, including hate crimes.
In response to the incident, U.S. deputy secretary of state Christopher Landau announced that Bob Vylan’s visas had been revoked “in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants.” This action comes amid the Trump administration’s broader crackdown on visa holders suspected of antisemitic or pro-terrorist behavior. Landau emphasized on X that “Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.”
