European Parliament hears bogus allegations directed at Budapest and Viktor Orbán.

Wednesday, October 8th saw Valérie Hayer MEP of the Renew Europe group accuse Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary of sending Hungarian drones into Ukrainian airspace.

The official debate during a plenary session in Strasbourg was supposed to focus on Russian UAV incursions into European Union airspace and the need for a unified EU response. Instead, Hayer used the opportunity to attack the Hungarian government.

Previously, these serious allegations were repeated in a hypothetical argument put forward by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—who advocates turning his country into a military drone production hub—and have since been discredited.
