The man was placed in custody in connection with the August 5th and 6th shootings in the Sint-Jans-Molenbeek quarter of the Belgian capital.

The suspect, a 20-year-old man, is also believed to have been involved in a shooting that took place the previous day, August 5th, on Ransfortstraat in the same district. Fortunately, no one was injured in either incident.

On August 5th, at around 2 p.m., shots were fired on Ransfortstraat by two suspects who fled the scene on a scooter. Although no injuries were reported, one bullet struck the windscreen of a passing car. The occupants were unharmed but shaken, and police arranged for victim support services to assist them.

The next day, Wednesday, August 6th, gunfire was exchanged between three individuals on Waterpasstraat, near Ransfortstraat. Again, no one was injured, but a parked car and a house were damaged. Officers recovered several shell casings at the scene and seized two scooters.
