Vatican’s state secretary , Cardinal Pietro Parolin described the failure of the Istanbul talks as “tragic” at an unrelated event this morning, Italian media reported.  “We hoped that a slow but positive process could begin toward a peaceful solution to the conflict. We are back at the beginning. Now we will see what to do but it is a very difficult situation. Very dramatic.”
