The right-wing Spanish VOX party held a rally in Montcada i Reixac, Catalonia to protest against recent attacks on its councilors by ‘antifascist.’ The announcement was made at a press conference by Joan Garriga, VOX’s spokesperson in the Parliament of Catalonia.
Garriga reported that last Thursday, individuals from a local squatter house assaulted a VOX tent, spitting on members and physically attacking them. He noted that one woman required hospital treatment twice after suffering a cracked rib. “It is unjustifiable: a serious crime against freedom of expression and the integrity of people,” Garriga said.
He criticized the silence of other political parties, including the PSC, Republican Left, Podemos/En Comú, and the CUP, for failing to condemn the violence. “The hatred of a few will not stop us,” he added, announcing that VOX would prosecute the aggressors, who are identified on the videos.
VOX Catalonia shared a video about the protest on X this morning, stating: “VOX responds to the aggression against two supporters at the hands of anti-fascists in Montcada i Reixac. NOT RETREATING A STEP.”

The Montcada i Reixac incident comes amid broader concerns over Antifa violence in Europe. Last week in Lyon, a young nationalist activist was severely beaten by far-left terrorists during a demonstration, suffering critical head injuries, and dying two days later.
