The man accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk appeared in a U.S. court in person for the first time on Thursday.
Tyler Robinson watched calmly as attorneys discussed procedural matters surrounding what is expected to be one of the most closely followed trials in modern American history.
Kirk was shot and killed on a Utah college campus in September, sparking a wave of grief among conservatives and prompting President Donald Trump to crack down on the radical left.
After a massive manhunt, Robinson was arrested the day after the September 10 killing, when his family persuaded him to turn himself in after recognizing him in photographs released by investigators.
Kirk, a father of two, used his audiences on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to build a strong right-wing community and promote key conservative talking points.
