Monday, December 22nd saw Denmark announce that it would summon the U.S. ambassador, after President Donald Trump named a special envoy to Greenland, the Danish autonomous territory he has previously suggested buying.
Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said he was “deeply angered” by the appointment and described the statement as “totally unacceptable,” adding that the U.S. ambassador would be called in soon to provide an explanation.
