On Wednesday, Denmark announced it will acquire long-range precision weapons for the first time, citing the need to strengthen deterrence against the Russian threat.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen told at a press conference:
For the first time, Denmark is to build up military capacity in the form of long-range precision weapons. This is a paradigm shift in Danish defence policy.
She added that Russia would constitute a threat to Denmark and Europe for years to come.Previously PM Frederiksen declared during an official visit from Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky that Denmark will do everything in its power to help Ukraine join the European Union.
