According to the Ukrainian president, this latest incident is one of “Putin’s tests.”

Drones were seen over Liège airport and the Doel nuclear power plant in Belgium on Sunday, November 9th. Air traffic at Liège was briefly halted, while Engie energy group confirmed the drones posed no risk to Doel power plant.

While there is no evidence of Moscow’s involvement in the drone incursions, Ukrainian President Zelensky on Telegram said

All these drone attacks by Putin are tests, to see what they are capable of. A test of how America will react to the current threat to European countries that are in Nato. There is no smoke without fire, and all these tests, in my opinion, are dangerous for the integrity of Europe.

Earlier this year, a similar incident occurred over a Belgian military base  when several drones were spotted above the Marche-en-Famenne (MEF) military base.
