Two separate shootings took place within minutes of each other on Thursday morning in Schaerbeek, Brussels.
At around 7:00 a.m., a fight between two people at the intersection of Auguste Lambiottestraat and Chazallaan escalated into gunfire. Early reports suggested the victim may have been shot in the head, but medical checks later confirmed the injury wasn’t caused by a bullet and that the victim is not in danger.
At approximately 7:10 a.m., another person was found with a gunshot wound near the corner of Rogierlaan and Alexandre Markelbachstraat.
The individual was transported to hospital by emergency services. The severity of the injury has not been disclosed, and it remains unclear whether the two incidents are related.
Authorities have launched a judicial investigation into the events. Police have not yet provided details on potential suspects or further circumstances surrounding the shootings.
This marks the 49th shooting incident in Brussels so far in 2025.
