An Eritrean illegal migrant is being sought by Swiss authorities after an 18-year-old compatriot was killed in a suspected homicide in Oberglatt, near Zurich, early Sunday morning.
Police were called to an apartment on Zürcherstrasse following reports of a violent altercation. Officers discovered the young man critically injured and, despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, a 27-year-old Eritrean man unlawfully residing in Switzerland, fled the scene and is now the subject of an intensive manhunt. Forensic teams have secured evidence and a possible murder weapon.
The motive for the killing remains unclear. Zurich cantonal police were supported by local units, emergency responders, and crisis counselors at the scene.
