Party for Freedom (PVV) leader Geert Wilders has issued an ultimatum to the Dutch government: implement a full asylum stop within weeks and introduce sweeping anti-immigration measures or risk losing his party’s support.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, May 26th, Wilders stressed: “We’re done. The gloves come off today. We’ll talk to everyone, but we bow to no one.”

The PVV leader expressed his growing frustration over what he sees as slow progress on asylum reform. In a ten-point plan presented today, titled The Border Has Been Reached, Wilders outlined his demands, one of which is the ability to revoke Dutch citizenship from dual nationals convicted of violent or sexual crimes, followed by deportation.

Then those people must be deported,

he said. Wilders also proposed a “zero-tolerance” approach to criminal foreigners, including asylum seekers and temporary residence holders. “We want a ‘one strike, you’re out’ principle,” he explained.

The plan calls for an immediate border closure to asylum seekers, enforced by military deployment, the suspension of all family reunifications, a two-week maximum shelter period, and a complete halt to new asylum center openings. He also advocated for the mass repatriation of approximately 60,000 Syrians currently residing in the Netherlands.
