Germany’s Federal Prosecutor has filed charges against seven alleged members of a left-wing extremist group linked to convicted activist Lina E.
Among those charged is Johann G., believed to be the group’s leader and Lina E.’s former partner. Six of the suspects are accused of being members of a criminal organization, while one is accused of supporting it.
Prosecutors say the group followed a militant far-left ideology and carried out coordinated, violent attacks over several years against people they considered neo-Nazis. These attacks were carefully planned, with victims often being watched beforehand.
The charges include attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, aggravated theft, and property damage. Four of the suspects are in custody, while the other three are not.
The indictment also includes an attack that took place outside Germany. In February 2023, Johann G. and another suspect allegedly took part in assaults in Budapest, Hungary, targeting individuals they believed were neo-Nazis. Several people were reportedly injured.
