German aviation authorities warned carriers not to overfly Iran until February 10th

Germany’s air traffic control authority said on Thursday it was advising airlines to avoid Iranian airspace until February 10, citing heightened security risks following recent warnings from the United States.

The recommendation was issued amid growing speculation over possible military intervention involving Iran.

A spokesman for Germany’s Flight Safety Office said the guidance was delivered on the instruction of the transport ministry and urged carriers not to overfly the country during the specified period.
