Faced with a local, mainly migrant team, a match official was physically abused during and after a district league match.

A referee was assaulted and chased off the pitch during a district league match in northern Dortmund after showing a red card in stoppage time.

SG Phönix Eving—a team mostly made up of migrant players—was losing 7-4 to DJK SF Nette II when Emre S. received a red card, angering players and fans.

Several players confronted the referee, who refused to overturn the decision and fled to the dressing room. The 30-strong mob followed him outside, surrounding his car and preventing him from leaving.

Another player allegedly punched the referee in the parking lot.

Police arrived to disperse the group, arresting Emre S., who has a history of assault. Emergency personnel treated the injured referee at the scene.
