On Sunday, November 16, a female driver saw severed female hands on the section between the Olpe-Süd junction and the Freudenberg exit on a German highway. She immediately notified the emergency services.
Police responded by closing the nearby road and launching an investigation in the area.
Although the hands were found on the side of the road, there were no signs of an accident and no other body parts were found. It is likely that the severed appendages were thrown out of a car window.
Based on fingerprints, they belonged to a young Eritrean woman living in a refugee shelter in a large city in North Rhine-Westphalia. However, a search of the woman’s apartment yielded no results, so the police are continuing their investigation. Forensic experts must now determine what caused the incident. The prosecutor’s office has yet to comment on the case.
For now, the key question remains: where is the woman? It is even unknown whether she is dead or continues to fight for her life.
