Hungary’s minister in charge of EU affairs announced on Sunday, May 25th, that he has been appointed to serve as the Prime Minister’s Envoy for the Fight Against Antisemitism.
In a post on X, Bóka said his duties will include developing proposals to fight “the alarmingly strengthening anti-Semitism across the European Union,” as well as to liaise with various European and international actors and with the institutions of the European Union.
Bóka reminded the government of Hungary has a long-standing policy of zero tolerance towards any manifestation of antisemitism, and remains committed to that policy, adding:
We feel responsible for the security and prosperity of all European Jewish communities, as European Jewish life is part of our common European heritage.
As of 25 May I am appointed by the Prime Minister of Hungary as his Envoy for the fight against anti-Semitism.
