Minister described the war in Ukraine—into which Brussels continues to pour unlimited money—as “completely hopeless and senseless.”

Hungary’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced on Monday, February March 2nd that the Ukrainian ambassador was summoned to Budapest over the ongoing forced conscription in Ukraine—which has recently claimed two more young people of Hungarian nationality.

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó stated that an open manhunt is taking place on the streets of Ukraine. One dual Hungarian citizen from Berehove was reportedly taken by violent operatives sent from Odessa, despite having an official exemption from conscription. Another young Hungarian, who struggled with mental health issues, was also abducted and remains missing.

Szijjártó also called the war in Ukraine “completely hopeless and senseless,” stating that Brussels continues to put money into it without limit:

This war only brings new victims and suffering every day, and it has no purpose whatsoever.

The minister called for its immediate end.

Echoing the Foreign Minister’s message, Zoltan Kovács, Hungary’s Secretary of State for International Communication, wrote on X:

Hungary summoned the ambassador to protest the forced conscription and the open street manhunt, especially as this forced conscription, this open street manhunt now regularly has Hungarian victims.
