The Israel Defense Forces said they struck a Hezbollah site in southern Lebanon on Sunday, August 31st, targeting military and underground facilities in the Beaufort Ridge area.

This site and the activity within it constitute a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
Since the Gaza war began after the October 7th pogroms, Hezbollah and Israel have been in ongoing conflict including two months of open war last year.
Under a ceasefire agreed in November last year, the Lebanese army has been operating in the south to dismantle Hezbollah sites, supported by UN peacekeepers.
As Hezbollah fails to comply with the conditions of the ceasefire, Israel continues to strike Hezbollah targets and says it will do so until the group is disarmed. Pressured by the U.S., Lebanon has instructed its army to prepare a disarmament plan by the end of the year, but Hezbollah says it will resist.
