The Israeli embassy was the target of Iranian terrorists whose plot to carry out an attack in London was revealed on Sunday by British police.
According to The Times, counterterrorism officers, supported by the military, made arrests at the weekend fearing that an attack was imminent.
A group of Iranian men are suspected of planning an atrocity at the embassy in Kensington, west London. They were taken into custody in different parts of the country: Rochdale, Swindon, London, Stockport, and Manchester.
Police have refused to give details of the alleged plot but it is understood the embassy was the main target.
Last October, the head of Britain’s MI5 domestic intelligence service revealed that since 2022 the UK had uncovered 20 Iran-backed plots posing “potentially lethal threats.”
On Thursday, May 8th, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected the allegation that his government was involved in a plot to target the Israeli embassy in London.
