Russia carried out a fresh wave of large-scale attacks across Ukraine from Friday into Saturday, firing three Kh-47M2 Kinzhal ballistic missiles and deploying 135 strike drones, Ukrainian authorities said. At least nine people were killed and 53 injured in the past 24 hours.
Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported shooting down or jamming two of the Kinzhal missiles and 91 Shahed drones, but 13 locations were still hit, with falling debris damaging four additional areas.
Kyiv suffered the deadliest strike, where seven people were killed and 36 injured as drones and debris hit nine districts, according to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. In the south, 34 communities in Kherson region came under fire, with one fatality reported. A 65-year-old man was also killed in Dnipropetrovsk region, while Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv recorded further attacks.
Separately, a major oil terminal in Russia’s Novorossiysk port briefly halted operations after reported Ukrainian strikes.
