Kyiv insists the parties are edging closer to a deal, while Russia says the peace process has stalled due to an alleged strike by Ukrainian forces on a village in the occupied Kherson region on New Year.
The Kremlin said on January 1st that Ukraine killed at least 27 people in a drone strike on a New Year’ Eve party in a hotel and café in the Russian-occupied southern Kherson region. According to regional governor Vladimir Saldo more than 30 people were injured in the alleged attack on the village of Khorly on the Black Sea.
Leaders from the ‘Coalition of the Willing’ are expected to convene in France next week after today’s talks.
