At least four people were killed and eight injured after a gunman drove a vehicle into a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse in Grand Blanc, Michigan, started shooting, and set fire to the building on Sunday, September 28.
The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Thomas Jacob Sanford, was shot dead in the car park by police eight minutes after the attack. Authorities are investigating the incident as “targeted violence,” though the motive remains unclear. Two victims died from gunshot wounds, while two others were killed in the resulting fire.
