Lithuania has put up ‘dragon’s teeth’ tank barriers on its border with Russia’s Kaliningrad as part of its efforts to prevent potential attacks by Russia, the Baltic country’s defence ministry said on Saturday, August 30.
“We are starting from the tactical level—specific obstacles on the border—and later we will combine the entire engineering plan into one conceptual system,” said Raimundas Vaiksnoras, commander of the Lithuanian army.
The pyramid-shaped concrete anti-tank obstacles were installed as part of the so-called Baltic Defense Line.
The Baltic NATO members—Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia—have raised defenses against Russia since the Ukraine war began. Lithuania and Latvia blocked unused roads and border crossings with Russia and Belarus. Latvia also erected concrete anti-tank barriers in July.
