Five more suspects have been arrested for the Louvre museum jewellery robbery this month, Paris prosecutors report.
Among them is the alleged ‘mastermind’ whose DNA was linked to the $102 million heist on October 19. The thieves used a truck lift and cutting tools to steal eight items of priceless jewelry, including pieces once owned by the wives of Napoleon III and Napoleon Bonaparte.
None of the stolen items have yet been recovered, but two suspects previously detained were charged with theft and criminal conspiracy after partially admitting to their roles in the high-profile burglary.
