Three men from Yemen, Eritrea, and Sierra Leone are under criminal investigation after assaulting a 38-year-old German man at Rosenheim train station. The incident occurred when the victim asked the trio to speak more quietly.
According to the Bavaria Federal Police on X, the attackers responded violently:
The Federal Police is investigating three men from Yemen, Eritrea, and Sierra Leone respectively for grievous bodily harm. The three are said to have attacked a man at the Rosenheim train station after he asked them to keep their conversation quieter.
The altercation escalated quickly, resulting in a scuffle in the station hall. The victim suffered multiple lacerations on his face. Alert federal officers initially apprehended two of the suspects and separated them from the victim, while witnesses confirmed that all three had participated in the attack.
The two suspects who initially fled were soon located, one near the station and another in the surrounding city area. The alleged perpetrators are aged 28, 31, and 35. An alcohol test revealed blood alcohol levels between one and almost two per thousand in all individuals involved.
After the police completed their initial measures, the men were released from custody, but criminal proceedings are ongoing.
The attack fits into a wider pattern of rising violence in German cities.
