The former French President, convicted of corruption and sentenced to five years in prison, is set to be released after less than a month behind bars.

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy is set to be released from jail after a judge approved his request for temporary freedom pending an appeals trial over alleged Libyan funding 

Sarkozy, 70, has spent 20 days in prison , which he described as a “nightmare.” During Monday’s court session, prosecutors supported his release while the appeals process continued.
