London witnessed a rare pro-Israeli demonstration on Sunday, August 10th—involving several clashes with pro-Palestinian counterdemonstrators.
The marchers called for the return of the hostages abducted during the October 7th pogrom, while many criticised PM Keir Starmer’s decision to recognise the state of Palestine, allegedly as a way to force Israel to the negotiating table.
In what looked like a targeted attack, anti-regime Iranian dissident Niyak Ghorbani was assaulted and choked by a pro-Palestinian counterdemonstrator, who was reportedly later arrested.
The day before, a Palestine Coalition march was disrupted when Defend Our Juries orchestrated a stunt in support of proscribed group Palestine Action—after which the Metropolitan Police made 532 arrests, the majority (521) of which were for supporting the ‘terrorist’ organisation using handwritten placards.
