One person was killed in a shooting in a Brussels municipality on the morning of Thursday, June 9th.

A firearm was discharged near the Westland Shopping at around 09:00 in the morning, leaving a 49-year-old victim fatally injured. Authorities confirmed:

a shooting took place on the Boulevard Sylvain Dupuis in Anderlecht. One person was killed.

The victim was a man born in 1976.

At the time of writing, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident, which will likely strengthen the view that crime in Brussels is seriously out of control, negatively impacting life at the heart of the European Union.
