A joint partnership to produce military equipment “marks a new level” in the relationship, the Polish defense minister said.

Poland’s Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said after meeting with U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in Washington this week that the two countries have discussed plans for joint investments in military equipment production on Polish soil.

Kosiniak-Kamysz described the initiative as a significant step forward in the U.S.-Polish defense cooperation, moving beyond traditional weapons procurement into full-scale industrial partnership.

“This marks a new level in our relationship,” he said, calling it a sign of trust and a deepening strategic alliance.

The minister emphasized that the collaboration would not only strengthen Poland’s defense industry but also cement its role as a key NATO hub in the region.
