Police responded Wednesday morning to a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in south Minneapolis, where officials said the gunman had been “contained.” Local media, citing police sources, reported the shooter was dead, though authorities gave no confirmation on casualties.
Emergency services surrounded the campus as parents were filmed collecting their children. “We are in the process of getting our kids out of the building,” a school staff member told AFP.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said state police were on scene and called the attack a “horrific act of violence.” President Donald Trump confirmed the FBI was responding, urging prayers for victims. Authorities stressed there was no ongoing threat to the community.
