A missile fragment struck Poland’s embassy in Kyiv during a massive Russian air assault overnight, Polish officials said Sunday. No casualties were reported at the diplomatic mission, which continues to operate normally despite the damage.
Polish foreign ministry spokesman Paweł Wroński said the object pierced the roof and ceiling before landing inside the consular section. It marked the second time in recent months the embassy has suffered damage in Russian strikes.
Ukraine reported at least four deaths and more than 70 injuries across the country, including a 12-year-old girl in Kyiv, as Russia launched some 500 drones and 40 missiles, among them Kinzhal hypersonic weapons.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks as “deliberate terror” and urged stronger international pressure on Moscow, as strikes also hit a cardiology centre, factories, and civilian housing in Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia.
